Mountain Pose

Mountain pose, or Tadasana, in Sanskrit, is a foundational posture in yoga. Take your time to stand tall. If you become distracted, simply come back to your breath.

To practice this posture, begin by standing tall. Notice your feet flat on the ground. Breath in and stand a little taller. Exhale, release your shoulder blades down along your back lengthening your shoulders down away from your ears. Bring your hips to a neutral place and slightly draw in your core. Take another inhale in to solidify this posture and exhale slowly, all the way to empty.

Bring your arms down by your sides and engage your fingertips so that they spread wide, engaging the muscles in your arm.

Continue breathing intentionally and hold this posture for 30 seconds. Just notice the sensations and thoughts that you experience during this time.
