Mindful movement : using directive cues, learn to move your body in a way that feels right for you.
When you are having difficulty concentrating, consider taking a few minute break to move the body.
To begin, round the shoulders up and back, perhaps clasping your hands behind you and allowing your shoulders to open. Move your neck in a way that feels good to you today.
Next take several long deliberate breaths, focusing on the exhale.
Inhale, exhale.
With a heightened awareness of your body in space, straighten the spine. Expand your chest with breath and exhale all the way. Focus on one spot in front of you and continue to move and breath in this way.
Inhale, expand. Exhale, release.
When you are ready, notice the sensation of your feet on the ground and continue to straighten the spine and open the chest.
Exhale fully and return to your task.
