This posture is part of the asana practice of yoga. An asana is a form, or posture. Standing forward fold (Uttanasana) can be calming. Allow your worries to flow away with each exhale.
To practice this form begin by placing your feet flat on the ground and standing tall. Inhale and raise your arms above your head. Exhale and as you slowly fold forward. Bend your knees. Notice what feels right for you today. Perhaps you bend your knees enough that your chest rests against your knees. Allow your arms to flow towards the ground. You may choose to wrap one your hands around opposite elbows or allow the fingertips to press against the ground. Hold this form for about 30 seconds.
