Desk Yoga

Practice Description:

Throughout the day, take a break to stretch the body. Perhaps you set a timer every three hours, or set a timer for 3 minutes to complete this practice. Find what works for you.

Sitting in your desk, place your feet flat on the floor and straighten your spine. 

Take an extended breath in
Breathe all the way out. 

Repeat this breath and on the exhale, open the mouth wide and release any tension you may be holding in the jaw. 

Now bring your attention to your neck. Begin to move it in a way that feels right for you today, pausing at any place that feels tight or tense. Breathe here and continue to move in a way that feels right today. 

On your next inhale, extend your arms above you and as you exhale, twist to one side, bringing one arm to opposite knee and one arm behind you. Be mindful of the sensations in your body and be mindful of your breath. Repeat on the other side.
