The sight of a vibrant sunset, or the scene of mountains folding into the horizon, or water flowing as far as the eye can see: these are all sights that bring harmony, pensiveness and peace. When one cannot be outside to observe nature, use the simple and important sense of sight to notice the things around you.
Perhaps you notice a tree outside your building you haven’t noticed before. What does its roots look like? It’s leaves? How does it change over time? Perhaps you notice the night sky or the afternoon clouds as they roll by.
If you need a break from your screen, look around you and what do you notice in the room? What is the shape of the clock. Notice the trim on the floors?
This practice can help you re-focus at any time and stay present.
