Chocolate

This simple meditative practice is about the practice of being present in the moment. Once you learn the mindful practice of paying attention to what is in the moment, you can use this skill in all aspects of your life. This practice will bring a new ease and tranquility into your life.

Place a square of chocolate onto the palm of your hand. Notice its texture, its shape, its color. Now bring it close to your nose and sense the aroma. What do you notice? Slowly and with intention place the square onto your tongue. Allow it to sit. Perhaps it begins to melt. What flavors do you notice? What is the sensation of the chocolate on your tongue? How does the taste change as it sits in your mouth? Allow it to completely dissolve, then pause. Savor the flavor. Notice the simple experience of mindfully eating chocolate.
